About The Coaches

(Coach Bill Euler with American 400m record holder Sanya Richards at the 2006 Penn Relays)

Head Coach Bill Euler is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater (BSE) and Alabama A & M University (M.Ed) While at Whitewater, he was a member of the varsity track team (where he still holds the indoor and outdoor records in the long jump). He competed all four years of college and was a three time All-American NCAA division III long jumper.
Coach Euler has competed in track and field for the last 29 years and has coached track and field for the last 20 years. He has coached children and adults from the ages of 6-23 in all events, but specializing in the jumps, sprints, and relays.
Coach Euler's philosophy on coaching is as follows: "I believe that my role in coaching athletes is to assist each athlete to reach his or her full potential and to bring out in them what they already possess. I feel that it is important to teach athletes the fundamentals of the sport, cooperation with their fellow athletes, and how to have fun through personal achievement." His favorite quote is, "A good coach improves your game, A great coach improves your life."
Coach Euler is also a teacher in the public school system in Bermuda.

Coach Tony Bean:
Coach Bean attended The Berkeley Institute and Life University. He has been with the Striders since 2001. As an athlete he specialized in the 400m and 800m and trained under Steve Burgess. He competed in many overseas track meets as well as the prestigious Penn Relays. As a coach, he worked with the sprinters and the middle and long distance athletes.

Coach Renelda Swan:
Coach Swan has also been with the Striders since 2001. He coached a variety of events. He is the current Bermuda Junior Record holder in the 400m and a 1976 Olympian. Presently coach Swan is a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Coach Akilah Lambert:
Coach Kilah has been with the Striders for the past two years. Originally she was recruited to be one of our high jumpers, but eventually proved herself to be an outstanding coach. One of her athletes, Jeneko Place is the 2008 Middle School high jump champion and has improved his high jump from 1.60m to 1.75m since working with Coach Kilah.
